All are welcome.

Worship is at the heart of who we are.

Our worship experience
is filled with curiosity and comfort,
delight and devotion,
imagination and the insistence that
the Gospel is for all people.
And we mean it, truly.

We gather to praise God,
to be formed as the body of Christ
and sent out by the Holy Spirit.

You are God’s beloved.
May you know this Good News more

What should I expect to experience at worship?

You’ll be greeted with a smile and a bulletin for worship.  Everything you need to know for the service is printed there, so just follow along.  Ours is a liturgical service, which means it follows a kind of pattern, or order, for worship.  We believe, as most Christians over the centuries have, that giving some careful thought to what we say and do in worship not only honors God the Creator but also helps carve out a space, a time,  to feel the Spirit at work in our midst.  We want worship to feel different from the various kinds of entertainment and distraction that we find in the rest of life.

But are you saying it’s boring?  Rigid?  Stuffy?  Of course not.  Actually, you will feel alive and engaged in worship, welcomed into the presence of God in song, prayer, and word.  We sing hymns and other spiritual songs, pray for the needs of ourselves and the whole world, and listen to the words of Scripture that speak to the love and grace of God in Christ.

A few other helpful hints for visitors:

  • What about communion? We celebrate the Lord’s Supper (or Communion, the Eucharist) every month or so.  All are welcome - the table is set by Jesus for all, no matter age/stage of discipleship!  Most often we celebrate by intinction, which simply means the people come forward by rows to receive a piece of bread and then dip it in the cup.  It’s an ancient ritual of the church, a sacrament, that not only recalls Jesus’ death on the cross but also the resurrection and the promise of a heavenly banquet for all God’s children.  Therefore, it’s a joyful feast!

  • What about kiddos? Jesus said they are welcome and so do we. Nursery is open from 9:45am-12:15pm, for children 6 weeks-Pre-K. Children in Kindergarten and up will remain with their family in the sanctuary and are invited to come forward for the children's message. They may then return to sit with their family. We have several options for their faith formation during the worship hour. The staff & volunteer-supervised PRAYground in the Narthex is for children Kindergarten and younger to utilize during the sermon. A PRAYground is a place where they can engage with their children's bulletin, and stretch their little legs. Children of all ages are invited to come forward for the children's message. Children's Worship Bags are available in the Narthex.

  • What if I need help with…? We have audio devices to help with any hearing difficulty. We also have handicapped seating and spacious places to sit if you have a walker or wheelchair.
