OUTREACH MINISTRIES
Backpack Buddies
Every week, FPC packs 750 food products for 75 children at Mill Creek Elementary and STEAM Middle School who otherwise would have trouble accessing food for the weekend. Supported by coordinator Lauren Rogers and the Matthew 25 Committee, Backpack Buddies is a longstanding mission of FPC. We are always in need of shelf-stable donations to serve the children in Bulloch County (granola bars, fruit cups, peanut butter crackers).
We also make Christmas Food Boxes for all our Backpack Buddies families, providing enough food for a Christmas dinner.
Little Free Pantry
Located in our parking lot, the Little Free Pantry is a grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local need. Whether a need for food or a need to give, our Little Free Pantry helps feed our neighbors and provides health and hygiene products to those in need. People can help themselves to the offerings in the pantry as well as offer their own items for sharing. The LFP seeks more supplies always. Most needed items include shelf-stable proteins like tuna or canned ravioli, protein bars, water/gatorade, and hygiene products.
Feed the Boro
Members of FPC regularly participate in Feed the Boro, helping serve thousands of our neighbors with monthly food drops. Interested in learning more? Contact FTB.
Little Free Library
Located in our parking lot, the Little Free Library is a way to celebrate and encourage literacy for all ages. Books are free and at various reading levels. Contact a Matthew 25 elder to learn more about how to help with this fun community outreach.
Warming Station
The Warming Station is a community mission supported by our local governmental emergency services to house our neighbors in need during freezing temperatures. This shelter is put in place at various times in the winter, usually in December/January. At the shelter, we provide dinner, a bed (with private room options if available), and breakfast. If interested in learning more during the winter seasons, contact a Matthew 25 elder.
